Reduced Scar Tissue Bunion Removal
Our AMI-Bunion procedure offers patients reduced scar tissue bunion removal. Traditional bunion surgery leaves scars on the outside of the foot and scar tissue inside the foot, which results in more pain and swelling. There may also be a loss of range of motion for the big toe, which requires physical therapy.
How It Works: Reduced Scar Tissue Bunion Removal
AMI-Bunion surgery leaves little, if any, scarring on the outside of the foot and inside the foot (scar tissue). This Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery (5-10 mm Scar) leaves far less swelling than the traditional bunion surgery, which means patients can be back on their feet (2-4 weeks), much sooner than traditional bunion surgery (up to 3 months).

How soon after my bunion removal surgery can I go back to work and/or participate in sports?
Every patient is different, but usually, Dr. K’s Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery patients are back on their feet in feet in 2-4 weeks, while traditional bunion surgery can keep you off your feet for up to 3 months. Once you are back on your feet, it really depends on how you feel as far as engaging in sports. Still, you should be able to do normal daily activities within 2-4 weeks with Dr. K’s Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery.
