As a Southern California native, Dr. Dana Brems studied Biology and Environmental Science at Whittier College. She was then accepted into Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, where after a four year curriculum she received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Dana was then selected to continue onto a three year surgical residency program in Long Beach. During her training, she was exposed to a wide variety of foot and ankle pathologies. At the local hospital, she underwent extensive training in foot and ankle elective surgery as well as trauma.
At the nearby Veterans hospital, she received additional training with an emphasis on limb-preservation and wound care, especially for patients with diabetes. She has also trained with well-known Los Angeles podiatrists and utilizes cosmetic surgical techniques in order to achieve minimal surgical scars and postoperative swelling. However, she also strives to utilize a non-surgical approach as the first-line of therapy. Above all, her general approach is to treat people how she would want her family member treated.
