Foot Deformity Correction
Whether you’re suffering from issues related to bunions, hammertoes, short toe, or clubfoot, Khosroabadi Institute is the destination for successful foot deformity correction. Two of the most common foot and ankle deformities are bunions and hammertoes. For this reason, Dr. Khosroabadi has developed a minimally invasive surgical treatment to correct them. This allows for a reduced recovery time post-surgery.
Dr. Khosroabadi and AMI Foot Procedures
Dr. Alireza Khosroabadi is a Fellowship trained foot and ankle specialist who graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Khosroabadi completed a three-year surgical residency in New York. He also completed a one-year fellowship at the Rubin institute for Advanced Orthopedics / International Center for Limb Lengthening at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore Maryland with world-renowned Orthopedic Surgeons, Dror Paley M.D. and John Herzenberg M.D. He has developed and perfected AMI (Advanced Minimally Invasive) Foot Procedures and treated patients from around the world with great success. The most popular types of AMI Foot Procedures include:
- AMI Bunion
- This type of specialized surgery leaves little, if any, scarring on the outside of the foot and inside the foot (scar tissue). The Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery (5-10 mm Scar) leaves far less swelling than the traditional bunion surgery, which means patients can be back on their feet (2-4 weeks), much sooner than traditional bunion surgery (up to 3 months).
- AMI Bunionette
- This type of surgery involves making a small (5mm) incision to remove the bony bump, smooth the bone edges, and fix the alignment of the bone inside the foot.
- AMI Hammertoe
- Dr. K uses minimally invasive surgery to remove small pieces of bone to help straighten the toes. Hammertoe surgery is an outpatient procedure and only needs minimal healing time.
