AMI-HAMMERTOE™: Minimally-Invasive Hammertoe Cure
AMI-HAMMERTOE™ is an advanced procedure that corrects more severe cases of hammer toes. While mild hammer toe issues can often be resolved without surgery, more complex conditions benefit from Dr. K.’s approach: an outpatient procedure to fix tendons, remove small bits of bone, and straighten the toes. Most people begin walking normally after just a few weeks.
Brachymetatarsia (Short Toe) Surgery: Toe-Lengthening Done Right
Dr. K.’s specialized brachymetatarsia surgery alleviates the pain caused by short toes in one of two ways:
- External fixator. After a brief outpatient procedure, this device gradually lengthens the toe for approximately four–to–six weeks. Patients are able to move around and stand by using crutches right away, if necessary.
- One-stage bone graft lengthening. In one surgical session, Dr. K. cuts the short toe in half and inserts a bone graft, eventually joining the two segments into one healthy bone in just a few weeks.
